RingAudio helps people see the true cost of borrowing before they sign anything. Loan adverts shout about low monthly payments and whisper about everything else — the total interest, the fees, the extra years. We exist to flip that: the formula sits on the page, you test your own numbers, and we explain the result in plain English.
Why we started
Most borrowing decisions are made with half the information. A lender quotes a monthly payment; the borrower never sees how much interest piles up over the full term, or how a 2% origination fee quietly lifts the true APR. We started RingAudio because that gap felt fixable: show the whole calculation, in the open, with nothing to sign up for and nobody's product to sell.
What you will find here
Seventeen free calculators covering personal loans, auto loans, mortgages, rent-versus-buy comparisons, credit card payoff, student loan repayment, refinancing break-even, home equity, down-payment saving, debt payoff order, APR with fees, debt-to-income ratio and loan comparison — plus the true cost of payday loans, a number every borrower should see once.
Each calculator is paired with articles that explain the ideas behind the numbers: what APR actually measures, why lenders obsess over your debt-to-income ratio, how avalanche and snowball payoff methods differ, when refinancing genuinely pays. The tools give you figures; the articles give you judgment.
How we work
Every calculator is checked against hand calculations before it goes live, and every worked example in our articles is verified against the same formulas. We avoid quoting interest rates and rules that change often — instead we point you to official sources and show you how to run the comparison yourself.
Articles are reviewed on a rolling basis and carry a last-updated date so you can see how fresh the thinking is. When readers spot mistakes, we fix them quickly — corrections have improved this site more than once. Our full standards are in the editorial policy.
What we are not
We are not a lender, a broker or a financial adviser. We do not take loan applications, we do not collect personal details, and we do not recommend specific lenders or products. The site is funded by advertising, never by steering you toward a particular loan — that independence is what keeps the maths honest.
Nothing here is financial, credit or legal advice. Calculators produce estimates from standard formulas; your real offer will depend on your lender, your credit profile, fees and local rules. Use our numbers to ask better questions of the professionals you do work with.
Who writes RingAudio
RingAudio is written and maintained by The RingAudio team, a small group focused on personal-finance education. We keep author bylines simple and make no claims about credentials we cannot prove — we would rather earn trust through transparent maths than impressive-sounding titles.
